With Dad and Tug taking a day off in Fernie, a few of us took the opportunity to have a visit with them. Jacquie and Peter made the drive from Calgary, as did Chris and I. We checked into a row of room is the Snow Valley Motel and had a wonderful room picnic provided my Jacquie - love her style! More relaxation and visiting over dinner and a few drinks - as well as a sad outcome to a certain hockey game...
The next day was an early one by my standards and a late one by the Dad &Tug's - 8:00am. Jacquie and Peter wonderfully offered to drive our car to Coleman, which allowed Chris and I to ride a cold 64km with the Tug & Dad. I believe the temperature on departure from Fernie was around 5C. Stopped for a bit of breakfast and a warm-up in Sparwood at a little place next to the worlds largest truck. Next up was the Crowsnest Pass - I think it was a small pass for the Dad & Tug after the others they've conquered. From there it was a smooth ride into Alberta, leaving BC and most of the mountains behind. We arrived in Coleman for a warm lunch at Tim's before leaving Dad and Tug to continue their adventure into the prairies.
It was a magnificent ride and both Chris and I were super happy that we had the chance to join for even a short part of the ride. Looking forward to joining up again in NS for the homeward stretch.
Cheers, have fun and ride safe.
Susie
