Jun 16 - Glenboro to Starbuck 133 km

A lunch stop at a cancer fundraiser

The guys became minor celebrities for their cross Canada trek when they happened on a cycling fundraiser, the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride, in a small town. Check it out at http://www.searsnationalkidscancerride.com/homepage.html it's quite something. The chance event became was a highlight of their day and with free lunch and applause to send them on their way which helped brighten an otherwise "horrible" day of riding with those wicked side winds. The day ended in campground in Starbuck on the outskirts of Winnipeg. Tomorrow they will head into Winnipeg to pick up necessary supplies (you find those at MEC, apparently) and do some blog catchup before heading south to Steinbeck and Hwy 11 that will take them through northern Minnesota for a short distance.
